The Southern Explorer
Beyond the beaches, the South Coast is one of the country's great adventure playgrounds. Whether you want adrenaline or a slow morning on a forest trail, it is all within a short drive.
On and under the water
Dive the Aliwal Shoal and Protea Banks, surf and learn to surf around Umzumbe, or head onto the Umzimkulu River for kayaking, stand-up paddling and river cruises. Anglers have their pick of piers and rock marks from Margate to Uvongo.
On land
- Wild 5 Adventures at Oribi Gorge for the gorge swing, ziplining, abseiling and suspension bridges.
- Horse riding at Lake Eland and Selsdon Park.
- Over 35 nature trails, from the Ingeli forest to the KwaXolo Caves and their San rock art.
- Dezzi Raceway for motorsport, and scenic flights with local aviation schools.
For the golfers
The region is a golf destination in its own right, with 11 courses including the Wild Coast Sun Country Club. Play a different layout every day of your stay.
